Who we are:
Our Mission: We come together in our common faith as God’s holy people. Strengthened by the Word of God and His Sacraments, we go forth in faith to love and serve all.
Our Vision: To live changed lives through a personal encounter with God, serving Him as missionary disciples.
Our Values: We value God’s presence in the Sacraments, creation, each other and all the gifts we receive.
See the pictures in our gallery to see some of our recent events.
Our History:
Due to the decline in priestly vocations, in 2010 we went from 6 individual parishes — St. Michael’s Penn Yan, St. Andrew’s, Dundee, St. Januarius’, Naples, St. Patrick’s, Prattsburgh, St. Mary’s, Rushville, St. Theresa’s Stanley — to one combined parish, Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Community, served by 2 priests. Our geographic area is 650 square miles, located in three counties! Eventually, the following worship sites were closed to accommodate the parish having only 1 priest and reflecting the loss of worshippers.
St. Andrew’s in Dundee was the first to close on 6/28/2009. Rochester Churches – Dundee – St. Andrew
St. Mary’s, Rushville closed on 1/1/2011. Rochester Churches – Rushville – St. Mary
Closed on 6/30/2019: St. Theresa’s, Stanley: Rochester Churches – Stanley – St. Theresa. Some pictures of the closing.
St. Michael’s Penn Yan, St. Patrick’s, Prattsburgh and St. Januarius’, Naples still give us a presence in Yates, Steuben and Ontario counties, respectively.
