Baseball & Domestic Violence Awareness, 7/18.  Catholic Charities, in partnership with the Elmira Pioneers, invites us to attend an evening of baseball at Dunn Field on Saturday, July 18th. This event provides family-friendly entertainment, and raises awareness about domestic violence.

Domestic violence affects individuals and families across the United States, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. Locally, Catholic Charities’ First Step Victim Services Program supports residents of Chemung and Schuyler Counties who have been a victim of a crime, with particular emphasis on victims of domestic violence. In 2025, the First Step program assisted nearly 225 individuals, delivering more than 3,185 services to those in need. The program maintains a 24-hour hotline, which can be accessed by calling or texting 607-742-9629.

Tickets for the game may be purchased by calling 607-734-2690. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30pm, with gates opening at 5:30pm. Giveaways and activities will be available for attendees of all ages.

Those attending are encouraged to wear purple. Event activities will include the sale of purple shirts, free face painting, and a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds from these efforts will directly support the First Step program, ensuring the continued provision of essential services to victims within the community.

For more information on First Step, please visit the Catholic Charities website at www.CatholicCharitiesCS.org or call 607-535-2050 and speak with an Advocate.

Although our 250th anniversary, has come and gone, what we are invited into is revival.  Are we bearing witness to a higher truth: that lasting peace, justice, and unity are possible when we surrender our lives to Jesus Christ. Will we stand with the Holy Father in proclaiming the truths of the Gospel which helped form the ideals of our country?  Will we continue to come before our Eucharistic Lord on behalf of our nation in Eucharistic Adoration?  God wants to be a joy filled, prayerful people.  Relive the moments of 7/4/2026. We are His servants.  Will we commit to serving others?
